William Donald Lee, age 92, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri passed away on August 22, 2023, at Lee’s Summit Medical Center. With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of a kind and gentle soul who brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. Bill's warm demeanor, great sense of humor, and genuine love for his family left an indelible mark on everyone's hearts.

Born on August 18, 1931, in Kansas City, Missouri, Bill was destined to become a pillar of his community. He grew up surrounded by the love and support of his parents, and family. Throughout his life, family remained his greatest source of pride and joy.

After graduating high school, Bill proudly served in the Army during the Korean War Conflict. His dedication to his country was a testament to his strong values and unwavering commitment to service.

Following his military service, Bill embarked on a successful career as a salesman for Maddox/Hayes Insulation Company. Known for his ability to make people feel at ease and forge connections with ease, he excelled in his profession and gained the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, sister, and beloved great granddaughter.

But above all else, Bill cherished being a husband to Martha Lee the love of his life for 71 years, and a father to Deborah (Tom) Paith, Diane (Dan) Erhard, Darlene (Chris) Egelston, and their families which include 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. He embraced fatherhood with open arms and dedicated himself wholeheartedly to nurturing and providing for his loved ones. Being called "Pappy" was an honor he treasured dearly as it brought him immeasurable happiness.

Bill had an infectious spirit that brightened even the darkest days. His quick wit and infectious laughter brought light into every room he entered. He was the life of every family gathering, filling it with love, joy, and countless cherished memories.

Friends and family will have the opportunity to pay their last respects at Longview Funeral Home in Kansas City on August 25, 2023. The visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at the same location at 11:00 AM. Bill will then be laid to rest in Longview Cemetery during a burial ceremony starting at 12:00 PM.

As we say our goodbyes to this remarkable man, let us remember how fortunate we were to have had him grace our lives. Though he may no longer be with us physically, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.

In times of sorrow, may we find solace in the memories that live on in our hearts. May we honor Bill's legacy by continuing to cherish our loved ones and find joy in life's simple pleasures, just as he did.

Rest in peace, dear Bill. You were an extraordinary husband, father, pappy, and friend. Your presence will forever be missed, but your spirit will forever dwell within us all.
