Wilma Bernice Curran (Rupe)

Wilma Bernice Curran was born on December 26, 1932, in Kansas City, Kansas. She passed away peacefully with family at her home in Edwardsville, Kansas on November 18, 2023. Wilma was known for her kind heart and unwavering faith, leaving a lasting impact on those whose lives she touched.

Wilma attended Junior College and carried her love for learning throughout her life. She had a successful career as a receptionist at Bethany Hospital and Providence Hospital where she displayed her dedication and compassion towards others.

Outside of her professional life, Wilma's proudest accomplishments were raising her family and being a loving wife to Byron Curran. Family always held a special place in Wilma's heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She spoiled her loved ones with affection and affectionately referred to them as the greatest blessings in her life. Wilma's faith played an integral role in shaping the strong family ties she held dear. Wilma cultivated lasting friendships within her community, finding solace and support among like-minded individuals who shared her devotion to God. She valued these relationships greatly and nurtured them throughout the years. In addition to doting on her family, Wilma enjoyed simple pleasures in life. She found joy in spending time with friends and family, playing games, and engaging in meaningful conversations. Wilma's peaceful passing at home surrounded by her loving family is a testament to the deep bonds she fostered throughout her life. The love that filled the room during those final moments demonstrated the impact she had on all those fortunate enough to know her.

Wilma Bernice Curran (Rupe) leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith. She is survived by her beloved sons Thomas, Donald, her grandchildren Darren Curran,Vanessa Curran, and Nycole Leggans, her great-grandchildren Delaney Leggons, Jackson Leggans, Olivia Leggans, and Lyla Curran; as well as her brother Richard Rupe. She is predeceased by her loving husband Byron Curran, son Phillip Curran, and brother Robert Rupe. Though Wilma will be dearly missed by all who knew her, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved and cherished. With grace and unwavering love for her family and faith, Wilma has left an indelible mark on this world. May she rest in eternal peace.

A Celebration Of Life Service will be held at the Family Church on January 11th, 2024, at 2PM.
