Bobby Earl Grissom, Sr., 82, passed away January 19, 2021. Funeral services will be 10am Monday, January 25 at Longview Funeral Home with burial to follow at Longview Cemetery. Services will be live streamed on the Longview Funeral Home Facebook page with Facebook live @facebook.com/Longviewfuneralhome. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Grissom was born on March 5, 1938 in Topeka, Kansas to Harry and Nellie (Baker) Grissom. He grew up and attended schools in Kansas City, Missouri before enlisting in the U. S. Navy where he served for 20 years as a submariner. Following his Navy career, Bobby went to work as a foreman for Amtrak, retiring after over 20 years. Following retirement, he made his home in Trinity, Texas. Bobby loved traveling, dancing, and going to casinos.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Grissom. He is survived by his four children: Bobby Grissom, Jr., KCMO, Brian Grissom, Statesville, NC, Brenda Harvey (David), Austin, TX, and Bonnie DeMerchant (Paul), Independence, MO; grandchildren: Jen, Crystal, Courtney, Bobby III, Sierra, Christopher, Brandon, Valerie, Mitch, Matt, Cory, Jonathan, and Shane; many great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
