Daniel Cox

Daniel Douglas Cox passed away quietly from complication of Covid-19 on August 28, 2021, at age 45 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Dan was born July 1, 1976, in Saint George, Utah and was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, St. George, Utah, and Orem, Utah by his parents Douglas Malin Cox and Linda Staples Cox. He graduated from Orem High school in 1994.

Dan served faithfully and honorably as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) in the Mendoza, Argentina mission speaking Spanish from 1995-1997. He studied electronics at ITT Tech for a time and earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Utah Valley State College. It was at the UVSC LDS Institute, that Dan first met Marnie Jo Jones. They later married, in the Mt. Timpanogos LDS Temple, on Feb. 12, 2000. Dan graduated in 2010 with his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from Creighton University and enjoyed working as a pharmacist. Dan and Marnie’s 20-year marriage were blessed by three children Kaleb Daniel (17), Meredith Kathleen “Grayson” (14), and Seth Joseph (10).

Dan is survived by Marnie, his three children, parents, two older siblings, Ray, and Shannon, and seven nieces and nephews. He loved baking for other people, talking about religion and politics, reading, learning languages, playing games, planning, and participating in Cosplay, loved the character Juggernaut, attending local comic-cons, visiting the temple, and joking with his kids, nephews and nieces. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
