David Laird

David Leroy Laird, 61, of Mesa, Arizona passed away peacefully after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. David was born into the loving home of Robert and Carole (Purkett) Laird on December 22, 1960, in Joplin, Missouri. David was raised in a home with his brother Drew and they were the ultimate duo growing up they did everything together. David graduated from Parkwood High School in 1979 and went on to continue his education at Missouri Southern State University graduating with a bachelor’s in 1983.  David finished school and went into the clothing profession on the retail and wholesale side his entire profession. He would meet the love of his life Elizabeth and they were married May 27th, 2006. After Elizabeth’s passing in 2019 David would relocate to Arizona where he lived till his passing.

David is preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Elizabeth Laird.  He is survived by his parents Robert and Carole Laird, brother Drew Laird, sister-in-law Margot Laird, nephew Jack Laird, and niece Charlotte Laird.

Graveside service will be Saturday, May 6, 2022, at 11am at the Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery- 806 SE 3rd Street, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, 64063.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in David’s honor.
