Glen Gregory Fortin

Greg Fortin of Blue Eye Mo, died on December 18, 2020 at Cox Medical Center in Branson, Mo. Greg was born on February 2, 1959 at St. Mary’s Hospital- Kansas City, Mo to Marjorie Elizabeth Blacker Fortin and Glen Sylvan Fortin.

The family lived at Lake Lotawana. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John LaLande Catholic Church in Blue Springs and was a graduate of Mason Grade School and Lee’s Summit High School (1977). He attended six years of union approved trade school, receiving a Class A Operating Engineering License and a Universal Refrigeration License. He had a successful career as a Commercial Building Operating Engineer, managing properties for Copaken White & Blitt, Jones Lang LaSalle, Citigroup and Delphi. In the later years, he worked for himself restoring residential property and providing maintenance and repair services for friends and homeowners in his community.

Greg was a lover of music and enjoyed playing guitar and jamming with friends. For five years, he toured across the country with rock bands, performing in 35 states, serving as band manager, bookkeeper, and bus Mechanic, ran sound and lights and provided back-up vocals. Greg loved watersports; was SCUBA certified; and was a member of the Lotawana Ski Club. After moving to Table Rock Lake, he relished motorcycle rides through the Ozark countryside with his girlfriend, Nancy. Greg was known for his polished sense of humor and for making people laugh.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by the love of his life, Nancy Stanley, of the home. Services to celebrate his life will be held at Longview Funeral Home 12700 SE Raytown Road, Kansas City, Mo 64149 on Wednesday December 23, 2020 with Visitation 10am with funeral service at 11am followed by a graveside service at Floral Hills East Cemetery; 25203 E US Hwy 50, Lee's Summit, MO 64086.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, 777 NE Blackwell Rd, Lee's Summit, MO 64086.
