October 13, 1975 — July 21, 2021

James “Jamie” Leonard DeShazer III, 45, of Higginsville, Missouri passed away on July 21, 2021. He was born on October 13, 1975, to the loving care of James and Cheryl DeShazer.  James came into this world needing extra love and care, but he also gave a lot of love to everyone that knew him.

Jamie loved the staff at the Higginsville Habilitation Center where he lived for 33 beautiful years. The family thanks them for all the care they have given Jamie.

Jamie was a huge fan of the KC Chiefs and Royals. He was a watch enthusiast and had to wear one every day. Jamie loved motorcycles and mimicking the sound they made as they drove by. His favorite type of movies were always superhero centric. Most of all he cherished time spent with his family. He looked forward to their visits which always meant going to the movies, getting cheese puffcorn, as well as ice cream on the way home. Going on trips was another one of his favorite things. When a visit or trip would end his parting words were always “Be Good. Go home.”

Jamie was preceded in death by his Father James DeShazer Jr. as well as his Grandparents James & Dorothy DeShazer and Paul & Velma Payne.

He is survived by his mother, Cheryl DeShazer, sister, Jolene Mitchell, brother-in-law, Jimmy Mitchell, nieces, Annabelle and Sophia Mitchell and his aunt, Barbara Payne. Jamie will be truly missed by many other family and friends as well as the staff and residents at Higginsville Habilitation Center.
