Obituary

Janice Eileen Cambers was born Aug. 9, 1955 in Kansas City, Mo to Melvin and Elaine Lass. She passed away July 17th, 2021. As a child, Janice spent her summers in Deer River, Minnesota with her cousins and grandparents. In the late 70s, she started working at Marion Laboratories as a pharmaceutical manufacturer where she met her beloved husband, Randy Cambers. They married Sept. 27, 1980 and started their family in 1983. Janice was a stay at home mom, a Boy Scout den mother, a PTA mom, and a softball mom. After their children reached school age, Janice began a job with the LSR7 Nutrition services where she was a baker and cashier. Following her work with the school district, Janice cared for her mother, Elaine Lass, for nine months before her mother went to be with the Lord. Janice went back to working in pharmaceutical manufacturing in 2012 continuing until the Spring of 2021 when she retired. Janice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her three kids and 10 grandchildren. She loved to bake, host family meals, and try new recipes. Janice was a spiritual woman who believed and proclaimed that all her strength came from the Lord. On a nice day, you could find her in the backyard gardening, admiring her plants or admiring the sunset. She loved to take trips with Randy to see the leaves change in the fall. She loved her family very much and looked forward to family reunions in Minnesota. Janice is survived by her husband Randy Cambers, son and daughter-in-law Kress and Rebecca Cambers, son and daughter-in-law Kurt and Holly Cambers, and her daughter and son-in-law Kayla and Christopher Barrows. Also surviving are her 10 grandchildren: Gavin, Elaina, Grayson, Cole, Clay, Crew, and Linden Cambers, and Alaina, Avery, and Brock Barrows, as well as her three siblings, Judith Lass, James Lass, and Jeananne Lass. She was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Elaine Lass and her father-in-law Chauncey F. Cambers. Janice passed away in her home surrounded by family on Saturday, July 17th after a two year battle with breast cancer.
