John Howard

John David Howard, 85, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on March 15, 2022. A private celebration of life will be held for family, as David requested.

David was born on December 27,1936 to Charles E. and Flora M. (Brewer) Howard in Kansas City, MO. He was a 1954 graduate of William Chrisman High School and attended William Jewell College.  David then joined the Army and served 4 years, including some time in Germany. He returned home and attended the Kansas City Art Institute and made Art his lifelong profession.

Davis was an Illustrator at Swicegood Art and Design in the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s.  He also did the cover illustrations for Broker World for many years.  His passions included: family, art, photography, tennis, movies, golfing, word games, brewing beer and music… especially his Ukulele.

David was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles M. Howard, nephew Aaron Davis and great-niece Kyla Dowell.  He is survived by his sister, Joan Davis and husband Tom Wynn, nephew Rick Davis and wife Lisa, niece Pam Davis, niece Kerri Howard Harness and husband Ron, niece Sharee Davis, nephew Larry McKee and wife Robin, and several great nieces and nephews.
