Nita Faye “Leslie” Good, age 87, of Warrensburg, MO, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at the Arbors Memory Care in Warrensburg at 12:25 a.m. after a long battle with dementia.

Nita was born in Garden City, Missouri to Wayne and Opal (Mainard) Leslie on December 20, 1933.  She graduated from Garden City High School, after which she began working at BMA in Kansas City for two years until she married George Richard Good on July 3, 1954 in Garden City.  Nita was a devoted wife, homemaker and mother of four children.  She was very involved with her church, Reese PTA, and was a Boy Scout Den Mother and a Girl Scout leader.  Nita and George enjoyed family, friends, playing golf and bridge.  George passed away on July 25, 1991.

Nita then attended CMSU and earned her teaching certificate.  She helped with CASA, Habitat for Humanity and joined in the Clown Ministry.  Nita then began The Good House Bed & Breakfast in her family home.  She loved meeting and helping new people; this was a perfect fit for her.

Nita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant grandson, Grant Parker Good; and two brothers, Maurice Leslie of Maryville, Missouri, and Larry Leslie of Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

She is survived by her four children:  Richard Wayne Good (Marissa) of Melbourne, Australia; Debra Lynn Krough (David) of Lee’s Summit, MO; Joseph Edward Good (Kelley) of Warrensburg, MO; and Marsha Jeanne Meyers (Kerry) of Maryville, MO.  Also surviving Nita are her two sisters, Rena Miller of Baxter Springs, KS and Linda Wiley of Amarillo, TX; 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Services are in care of Longview Funeral Home where Nita’s granddaughter, Megan, will serve as her funeral director.  A public visitation will be held from 10am-12pm on Thursday, February 25 at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.  Due to COVID, a private family funeral service will take place at 2pm at the First Christian Church in Warrensburg.  The service will be livestreamed and available for viewing on Nita’s page at www.longviewfuneralhome.com

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First Christian Church, 101 E. Gay Street, Warrensburg, MO 64093.
