Shirley Mathis, 88, of Raymore, Missouri passed away on August 13, 2022 in Lee's Summit, Missouri. She was born on October 28, 1933, in Bucyrus, Kansas to Harry and Opal Keltner.

Shirley worked for the Grandview School District as an aid to assist children with special needs. The House of Lloyd and Full time Homemaker. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. Shirley and her husband Doug were members of the Holmeswood Baptist Church for many years where she sang with the choir and many solos. After moving to Raymore, they joined the Raymore Baptist Church where Shirley sang with the women’s ReJoySing choir. Shirley was also a member of the Sweet Adeline’s Kansas City Chapter. Shirley and Doug as well as the other members of the Crystal Road Limited Bluegrass Band traveled across the Kansas City area for over 30 years entertaining many churches and nursing home facilities with their music.

Shirley and Doug enjoyed spending many hours working in their beautiful garden and koi pond. The summer Shirley’s home was on the Kansas City Garden Tour she was so excited to share her beautiful garden with friends. Shirley devoted her life to her husband and children.

She was preceded in death by her husband John (Doug) Mathis of 62 years, son David Mathis, father Harry Keltner, mother Opal Keltner, and sister Bonnie McClelland. Shirley is survived by her daughters Debbie Quint spouse (Gary), Nancy Hilton spouse (Rick), Mary Miller spouse (Tim), Sister Marilee Ciardullo, Niece Sarah Sullivan spouse (Chris), Eleven (11) grandchildren Steve Quint, Jeffrey Quint spouse (Jennifer), Angela Medsker spouse (Michael), Andrew Hilton spouse (Stephanie), Laura Blevins spouse (Jeremy), Holly Coquillard spouse (Cory), Benjamin Strauch spouse (Shelby), Joseph Strauch spouse (Katelyn), Josh Miller, Tom Miller spouse (Emily) and Lindsey Miller. Eighteen (18) great grandchildren Breanna, Destinee, Cole, Chase, Emma, Zoey, Nate, Olivia, Gracelyn, Joshua, Rachel, Noah, Grayson, Rowyn, Colton, Henry, Carter Jo, and Joey. Great niece Claire and great nephew Patrick
